The issue
Twenty-Twenty Partnerships approached us about creating a Queenstown housing development that is innovative, sustainable and with a strong sense of place.
The challenge was to strike a balance between density and suburbia and design 16 units on 3265m2 in a medium density development. Typical lots are usually 150 - 165m2.
Solving that
Our vision was to create residences that were low maintenance, eco-friendly as well as stylish and spacious.
We created Alta, a modern palette that uses materials such as cedar weatherboards to capture the alpine character of Queenstown. Naylor Love constructed the 16 two and three bedroom homes on a site plan that is permeable and open. Each home has a private courtyard featuring a mixture of native plants, with spectacular views of the Remarkables.
The two bedroom villas are around 80sqm and are single level for easy living. The three bedroom villas are around 130sqm and on two levels, providing separation between the living, entertaining areas and bedrooms.
Facing north, each apartment has landscaped grounds and has use of adjacent land making for an indoor/outdoor flow. Built in a sought after location, the new villas are close to a major shopping centre and only minutes away from the International Airport.

As a result...
We have created a medium density development, with individual freehold titles, that maintains a suburban scale, and the feeling of a neighbourhood.
Buyer interest in the development has been exceptional, with all townhouses purchased off the plans prior to construction.
Alta was 100% pre-sold and at completion was selling 40% above list price.
